Thesis topics

The blockchain’s potential for the circular economy

To benefit from a circular model, firms need to come up with disruptive technology and business models that strive for longevity, reuse, repair, upgrade, servitization, capacity sharing and dematerialization. Blockchain initiatives, which allow for transactions without intermediaries, could provide a technological pathway that favors circularity, such as resource tracking over the whole supply chain, or managing product modularity and reinsertion of materials. The thesis aims at presenting and discussing the most recent trends and concerns, as well as practical challenges, opportunities and solutions in the fields of blockchain and circular economy. It should provide the latest blockchain thinking and practices of companies moving on the circular pathway.
